Kerr: Concerns over Splash Brothers have been exaggerated

There are no alarm bells ringing between the ears of Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.

Despite the struggles of his All-Star backcourt Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson throughout the first three games of the NBA Finals, Kerr is fully confident the two will bounce back.

"I think (the concerns are) a little bit exaggerated," Kerr told reporters Friday. "We were up 2-0, and in one of the games they both played under 30 minutes and there wasn't much required from either one of them. You talk about a three-game sample size. So everyone's going crazy about, 'What's wrong with these guys?' Nothing's wrong. We're up 2-1. They both can play better, they know that, but we're not talking about a month-long slump here."

After averaging a combined 52.9 points through their first 11 games of the playoffs together, the Splash Brothers have averaged 28 points during the NBA Finals. Thompson shot 4-of-13 during a Game 3 loss, while Curry concluded the first half with more fouls than points, before finishing with 19.

"I have to play 100 times better than I did, especially in the first quarter," Curry said following Game 3. "I'm fine. We're in good shape."

Heading into Game 4 on Friday in Cleveland, Kerr said it's up to him and his coaching staff to find ways for Curry to be successful.

''We can definitely help Steph out and we will,'' Kerr said Thursday. ''We can put him in better position. ... The coaching staff has to figure out the best lineups and the best looks. Players have to perform. It's on all of us to be better.''
