After carrying the team to the second round of the playoffs this season, the Portland Trail Blazers are looking to reward their head coach with a new deal.
While he already holds a team option for next season, the Blazers are focused on retaining Terry Scott going forward, and are currently looking to sign the Coach of the Year runner-up to an extension this summer, ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz reports.
Despite losing four starters in the offseason, Portland remained a threat in the West under Stotts in 2015-16, finishing fifth in the conference despite being handed a much weaker roster.
In four seasons as head coach, Stotts has accumulated a record of 182-146 with the Blazers, making the playoffs in each of the past three seasons.
