Livingston: Community Assist Award 'probably out the window' after ejection

Golden State Warriors point guard Shaun Livingston was ejected for berating a referee in the second quarter of Game 4 against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night, and as he stewed in the locker room afterward, a sad reality dawned on him.

"I was thinking about that Community Assist Award," Livingston joked with reporters Wednesday. "It's probably out the window."

In truth, the 10 finalists for the season-long award (it's also given out monthly) had been announced earlier in the day, and Livingston wasn't among them.

The award, it should also be noted, is reflective of community engagement and charity work, and is unrelated to on-court behavior. The Warriors are represented in the finalist group by Draymond Green, who finished third in the NBA with 13 technical fouls this season, and has added three more in the playoffs.

Livingston's ejection didn't cost his team, either. In his absence, Steph Curry torched the Blazers for 17 overtime points in the 132-125 win.
