Heat's Hassan Whiteside: Out for Game 4

Whiteside (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's Game 4 against the Raptors, ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Whiteside was diagnosed with a sprained right MCL after twisting his knee during Saturday's Game 3 loss. The big man is officially considered day-to-day, but he was spotted in a walking boot Sunday and doesn't appear remotely close to full strength. The Heat will continue to handle the situation on a game-to-game basis, and both Amar'e Stoudemire and Udonis Haslem will be thrust into larger roles in the absence of Whiteside. Working in the Heat's favor, though, is an ankle injury to Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas, who has already been ruled out for the remainder of the series.
