Bulls freeze ticket price increases after missing playoffs

Raj Mehta / USA TODAY Sports

Chicago Bulls team owner Jerry Reinsdorf is doing the city a solid.

Following a disastrous 2015-16 campaign that saw the team miss the postseason for the first time since 2008, Reinsdorf will halt ticket price increases.

Bulls ticket prices have risen steadily since the 2010-11 season, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. That year the Bulls won 62 games and looked poised for a dynastic run, so it made sense that prices increased.

Injuries would eventually keep Chicago from reaching their potential, but they still won an average of 49.5 games each year over the last six seasons to justify escalating prices.

Last season, the Bulls led the league in ticket sales with prices ranging from $42 in the upper bowl to $360 in the lower bowl.
