Warriors' Stephen Curry: Will not play in Game 3

Coach Steve Kerr said Friday that Curry (knee) won't play in Saturday's Game 3 against the Trail Blazers, but there's a "slight" chance the point guard could be available for Game 4 on Monday, Paul Pabst of NBC Sports Radio reports.

Analysis:

Curry sat out practice Thursday and was already considered doubtful for Saturday's Game 3, so the coach's decision to officially rule Curry out doesn't come as much of a surprise. With the Warriors holding a commanding 2-0 lead in the series as they head to Portland, it's likely that they could be able to get by without Curry's services in Game 4, but the results of Game 3 may ultimately dictate whether or not the team opts to bring the reigning MVP back into action. Following Saturday's Game 3, we should see Curry's status updated when the Warriors resume practicing Sunday, which will give us a better indication of his availability for Game 4. With Curry set to miss at least one more game though, Shaun Livingston will continue to run with the starters.
