LeBron lauds Lue's steadiness, consistency

This season in Cleveland hasn't been devoid of drama, but one major difference from this year to last, or even the second half of this season to the first, is that LeBron James has been openly supportive and complimentary of his Cavaliers head coach.

Tyronn Lue took over the role at the season's midway mark after the firing of David Blatt, whom James took repeated passive-aggressive jabs at throughout his year and a half at the helm. While Blatt reportedly lost his players' respect by kowtowing and refusing to call James out for mistakes, James said it's been a different story with Lue, who approached the job promising accountability for all.

"He's the same way, no matter the point in the game," James said, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst. "If we mess up, he gets on us, but he's always saying: 'OK, let's move on to the next possession. Let's figure out a way we can be better next possession.'"

Lue said his steady, consistent, even-handed approach is something he picked up from his former Los Angeles Lakers coach.

"I got it from Phil Jackson," Lue said. "I think just being even-keeled, being poised, staying with it, being positive with the guys. I think it's the best approach."

It's not the first time Lue's credited Jackson for an aspect of his coaching philosophy.

"I just think that when you're calm and you're not complaining and you're not rattled, that carries over to your team," he said. "I think if you react to every single call, every single shot or every single turnover, it doesn't give your team confidence."

The Cavs still haven't quite put together 48 straight minutes this postseason in which they've fired on all cylinders. But with Lue's steady hand guiding them to five wins in five games, confidence doesn't appear to be in short supply.
