When former assistant Tyronn Lue took over as head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers following David Blatt's dismissal in January, it was reported that he had signed a three-year deal worth $9.5 million.

That no longer appears to be the case, as multiple sources told ESPN's Dave McMenamin that Lue has yet to put his signature to paper on a new contract with the Cavaliers.

The apparent reasoning behind the delay is that Lue wanted to be respectful to Blatt, who gave him the opportunity to join his staff. He also didn't want to send out the impression that he was benefiting with a huge raise as a result of Blatt's firing.

Lue expects to be back with Cleveland next season, regardless of how his team fares throughout the remainder of the playoffs, a source close to him told ESPN. The Cavaliers are set to take on the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference semifinals after sweeping the Detroit Pistons.

He also reportedly has zero interest in any of the high-profile coaching vacancies around the league, including the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Houston Rockets.

Lue is currently working under his old deal of $6.5 million over four years, which was later renegotiated by his agents. It will take him through the end of the 2016-17 season. If he were to have interest in a job somewhere else, he would need permission from the Cavaliers to do an interview.

There are no performance incentives in place for Lue by management, who fully intend to honor their verbal commitment by coming to terms on a deal this summer.

The Cavaliers finished the 2015-16 regular season at 27-14 with Lue at the helm. The team was sitting atop the East at 30-11 when Blatt got canned.
