Report: Kevin McHale the front-runner for Kings head coaching job
While the search for the next Sacramento Kings head coach is likely to continue for the foreseeable future, a front-runner has emerged among the numerous candidates for the position.
Former Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale is the favorite to land the Kings' head coaching job, CSN's James Ham reports.
In seven seasons as a head coach, McHale is 232-185, reaching the postseason on four occasions. McHale was relieved of his duties with the Rockets earlier this season, after beginning the year just 4-7.
The Kings reportedly interviewed Vinny Del Negro on Monday, who joins Mark Jackson, Sam Mitchell, Mike Woodson, Nate McMillan, and Luke Walton as other reported candidates for the position. Current Memphis Grizzlies assistant Elston Turner has recently been added to the list, Ham reports.
