Garnett pays tribute to his 'super cool' friend Prince

Prince had one specific thing in common with Kevin Garnett: Both became synonymous with the state of Minnesota. After the pop superstar's death Thursday, KG spoke about the loss of his friend.

‎"My favorite Prince story was just in a nightclub, him sending for me and then telling me how much he knew about me and the game of basketball," Garnett told ESPN's Marc Stein on Friday. "He was super confident, but humble in how he spoke to you. He was always very inviting and the one takeaway you got from every time you talked to him was how he was just so super cool."

Garnett, who posted a similar tribute to his late Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders in October, saluted Prince via Instagram.
