Jared Dudley is hoping a productive season with the Washington Wizards nets him some security when signing his next contract.

The 30-year-old pending free agent played valuable minutes for the Wizards, primarily coming off the bench. He appeared in 81 games (starting 41) and averaged 7.9 points on 48 percent shooting, while collecting 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 25.9 minutes.

Despite missing the playoffs, Dudley acknowledged that he would like to return to Washington and is seeking a three-year deal to do so.

"Going forward, I could definitely see me coming back," Dudley told Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post. "As I told some other reporters, I'm never anybody’s first or second or third option, I'm your fourth option. So if you don't get your girlfriend you want right away, I'm the one at the end. For me, it's no problem. You know what I can do in this system. When I play, I play the right way."

Dudley has bounced around in recent years, as the Wizards marked his fourth organization in as many years. Since 2013, the nine-year veteran has averaged 8.3 points, three rebounds and two assists while playing 25.2 minutes per game.
