Coach Steve Clifford said after Wednesday's Game 2 loss to the Heat that he's "very concerned" about Batum's sprained left ankle, Justin Verrier of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Batum was quickly pulled from Wednesday's matchup in the fourth quarter after spraining the ankle in what looked to be a pretty painful way. The 27-year-old, who missed the Hornets' regular season finale with a sprain of the same ankle, looks questionable to play in Saturday's Game 3, putting the team in a perilous spot while they trail 2-0 in the series. If the Hornets are ultimately forced to go without Batum on Saturday, Jeremy Lin would be the top candidate to enter the starting lineup at shooting guard, while Jeremy Lamb, Courtney Lee, Troy Daniels, and Marvin Williams could be forced to pick up more time on the wing.
