Report: Kings share mutual interest with Brian Shaw

The Sacramento Kings continue to show interest in former Denver Nuggets head coaches.

After dismissing George Karl following a rocky one-year union, the Kings are canvassing the league for a replacement, and are looking to bring in Karl's successor in Denver.

Brian Shaw and the Kings have mutual interest in the opening, USA Today's Sam Amick reports.

Shaw flamed out in Denver after two disappointing seasons at the helm. Having inherited a 57-win roster, Shaw won 36, then 20 games in consecutive seasons before getting fired. He also had a penchant for butting heads with his star players (Andre Miller, Kenneth Faried, and Ty Lawson).

Being strong-headed might prove to be a difficult sell with DeMarcus Cousins aboard, but as Amick notes, Shaw has a history of building strong relationships with centers dating back to his days deliberating with Shaquille O'Neal of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Other candidates for the Kings job include Sam Mitchell, Luke Walton, Mike Woodson, Nate McMillan, Kevin McHale, Mark Jackson, and Vinny Del Negro.
