An uptick in defensive intensity and an increased reliance on mid-range jump shots has led to some ugly basketball during the first week of the 2016 NBA Playoffs.

From ghastly shooting performances to blowout defeats, here are the five worst performances of the postseason to date:

Celtics set playoff record with 7 first-quarter points

Surrounded with little shooting, the Boston Celtics struggled mightily to score during their Game 2 matchup against the Atlanta Hawks - particularly early on. Boston's offense was so ineffective in the first quarter, that they broke the record for the fewest points scored in the opening frame of a postseason contest.

Durant channels his inner Jordan

Kevin Durant may have tied one of Michael Jordan's playoff records on Monday, but it was certainly one he'd prefer not to have on his resume. After finishing Game 2 just 7-of-33, Durant tied Jordan for the most misses (26) in a playoff game.

DeRozan can't buy a bucket

Determined to let go of his playoff demons, DeMar DeRozan entered the 2016 postseason ready to prove his doubters wrong. The results have not been pretty thus far, as DeRozan has shot a combined 10-of-37 from the floor over the Toronto Raptors' first two contests.

Matthews goes minus-40 vs. Thunder

While Wesley Matthews' on-ball defense was the key to Durant's dreadful performance in Game 2, his Game 1 showing played a part in Dallas' 38-point defeat. While many Mavericks struggled, Matthews was arguably the worst of the group, posting a minus-40 performance in 29 minutes.

Grizzlies get blown out in San Antonio

Entering their first-round matchup against the San Antonio Spurs as massive underdogs, the Memphis Grizzlies did little to prove they belonged in the postseason in their first two games. Memphis followed their Game 1, 32-point blowout defeat with a 26-point loss in Game 2.
