The Miami Heat have officially signed small forward Dorell Wright for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.

Wright last played in the NBA in 2014-15, appearing in 48 games for the Portland Trail Blazers, when he averaged 4.6 points and 2.3 rebounds.

The California native was drafted by Miami, spending his first six years with the Heat.

Miami's roster sits at the maximum 15 players heading into the postseason. With over 500 career games under his belt, Wright will give the Heat valuable veteran leadership with the playoffs set to begin at week's end.

"It's been a long journey for me, I'm happy to be back. This is somewhere I've been looking forward to returning to," Wright said Tuesday.

The 30-year-old has averaged 8.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on 38 percent from deep in 11 NBA seasons with the Heat, Blazers, Philadelphia 76ers, and Golden State Warriors.
