5 most impressive stat lines from the 2015-16 season

Mark D. Smith / USA TODAY Sports

Russell Westbrook put on one of the best performances of the NBA season Monday, recording a first-half triple-double in just 18 minutes.

Westbrook came one minute shy of the NBA record for the fastest triple-double, set back in 1955. The historic outing was one of a number of eye-boggling stat lines put forth this season. Here's a look at the top five most impressive performances in 2015-16:

Dwight Howard vs. Clippers

A rare stellar free-throw shooting performance from the big man. Howard went 14-of-18 from the line in the 140-132 overtime loss to the Clippers in January. The 26 rebounds matched his career high and the outing marked the first time a Rockets player had 35 and 25 since Hakeem Olajuwon in 1990.

Draymond Green vs. Nuggets

MIN PTS REB AST

Green became the first player in Warriors history to record back-to-back triple-doubles twice in the same season when he recorded his sixth in a 111-108 overtime win over the Nuggets to improve to 31-2. Green went 5-of-9 from 3-point range and also racked up four steals on the night.

Russell Westbrook vs. Clippers

MIN PTS REB AST
37 25 11 19

Westbrook was in video-game mode during a 120-108 win in March over the Clippers. The Thunder guard originally appeared to post the league's first triple-double with at least 25 points, 20 assists, and 10 rebounds since Magic Johnson in 1988, but the league rescinded one of Westbrook's assists the following day. His 11th triple-double of the season was nonetheless impressive, however.

Stephen Curry vs. Pelicans

MIN PTS REB AST
36 53 4 9

Curry dropped 29 points in the third quarter alone during a 53-point performance in a 134-120 win over the Pelicans in October. Coming off a 40-point outing, the reigning MVP nailed eight 3-pointers, and went 11-for-11 from the free-throw line to set a new career high in points.

Anthony Davis vs. Pistons

MP PTS REB AST
43 59 20 4

Davis single-handedly dismantled the Pistons in February. He dominated Andre Drummond scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds in the first half alone, en route to the 59-point, 20-rebound game. Davis became only the 20th player in NBA history to score at least 59 in a game, and the youngest player since 1983 to finish with 50 and 20.
