Pierce has been ruled out for Sunday's game with the Mavericks due to a minor ankle injury.

Analysis:

Pierce suffered the ailment while starting and playing 33 minutes in Friday's win over the Jazz, during which the Clippers were resting four of their regular starters. It doesn't appear that the ankle injury is serious enough to truly prevent Pierce from playing Sunday, but the Clippers will rest him nonetheless with an eye on keeping him fresh heading into the playoffs. Pierce could be back in action Tuesday against the Grizzlies.
