Cousins, Rondo out as Kings host Timberwolves

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo will rest Thursday when the Sacramento Kings host the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team announced.

The Cousins development is interesting because head coach George Karl said last week the big man would only play home games for the remainder of the season, which ends next Wednesday.

Given that Thursday's contest is a home game, Karl's assessment would mean Cousins would only play one more game this season - in Sleep Train Arena's finale Saturday night. The Kings wrap up their 10th straight playoff-free campaign on the road in Phoenix and Houston.
