Gay will be rested for Tuesday's matchup with Portland, James Ham of CSN Bay Area reports.

Analysis:

The Kings have been resting key players as they careen toward another lottery pick, and Gay will sit for the second time in five games. His last absence, on March 28, also came against the Trail Blazers in a game the Kings lost by 12 points. With Omri Casspi (hamstring) already out, James Anderson and Ben McLemore could be asked to play small forward, and veteran Caron Butler figures to see an expanded role.
