Suns' Richardson suspended two games by NBA
New York, NY (Sports Network) - Phoenix Suns guard Jason Richardson has been suspended without pay for the first two games of the regular season for pleading guilty to driving under the influence, in violation of the law of the State of Arizona, the National Basketball Association announced Friday.
The suspension will force the Michigan State product to miss the Suns' season
opener on October 28 at the Los Angeles Clippers and the team's home opener on
October 30 versus the Golden State Warriors, where Richardson spent the first
six seasons of his career.
Phoenix suspended Richardson for a game without pay back on February 18 after
a second incident in which Richardson ultimately pleaded guilty to two
misdemeanor speeding charges and a count of endangerment for a February 15
case, when his son was in the car.
The 6-foot-6 guard played in 14 games for the Bobcats last season before he
was traded to the Suns on December 10. He averaged 16.4 points and 4.5
rebounds in 58 games (57 starts) for Phoenix last season.
