Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Carmelo Anthony had 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists as the New York Knicks defeated the Dallas Mavericks 92-80 on Sunday night.

The Knicks' lead peaked at 19 in the third before they headed into the fourth with a 67-57 cushion.

A Vince Carter 3 whittled the Dallas deficit to 68-62 early in the final stanza, but a J.R. Smith jumper, Toure Murry layup, and Tim Hardaway Jr. three-point play extended the gap back to 75-62.

Dallas again got within six with 1:33 left, but the Knicks sunk their free throws down the stretch to seal the outcome.
