Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Wil Myers, who's missed more than two months with a fractured right wrist, is poised to begin a 20-day rehabilitation assignment Saturday with the Triple-A Durham Bulls, according to Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune.
“When he talks about how it feels when he swings, he’s very positive,” manager Joe Maddon said of Myers, who last played May 30.
Myers compiled a .227/.313/.354 line with five home runs in 53 games before landing on the disabled list, but the 23-year-old took some swings in the cage Saturday and is excited to return to game action.
“I’m ready to just hit the ball on the field to see where the balls are going,” Myers said.
