Miami Marlins fans will reportedly know the fate of injured outfielder Giancarlo Stanton on Tuesday.
Stanton sustained facial fractures and required some dental work after getting beaned by Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Mike Fiers in a wild game on Thursday. Amazingly, the National League MVP candidate avoided a concussion, which surely would have ended his season.
The Marlins (71-75) enter play Saturday 6 1/2 games back of the final NL wild-card spot and would need nothing short of a miracle to qualify for the postseason.
