Lakers' Gasol to undergo MRI on foot

Los Angeles Lakers big man Pau Gasol left Tuesday's win over the Nets in Brooklyn with what the team is calling a plantar fascia strain in his right foot.
Gasol, who said he felt a "pop" in his foot when he went up to contest a Brook Lopez shot, will undergo an MRI on Wednesday in Boston. He left the locker room in Brooklyn on crutches.
The Lakers are already without Dwight Howard, who aggravated a shoulder injury, and have seen both Gasol and Steve Nash miss time earlier this season due to injury.
At 23-26, the Lakers are 3.5 games behind the eighth place Rockets in the Western Conference.
