Report: Jason Kidd arrested on DWI charge
Veteran point guard Jason Kidd was arrested early Sunday morning for drunk driving, according to a report in the Southampton Patch. The report says Kidd was arrested on a misdemeanor DWI charge and later released.
Kidd had just signed a 3-year, $9 million contract with the New York Knicks on Thursday. New York also acquired PG Raymond Felton from the Trailblazers on Friday, meaning they will likely not match the offer sheet given to Jeremy Lin by the Houston Rockets.
This is not the first time Kidd has found himself on the wrong side of the law. In 2001, he was arrested and pleaded guilty to a domestic violence charge.
The 39-year old Kidd averaged 6.2 ppg and 5.5 apg for the Dallas Mavericks last season.
