Report: Rockets consider amnestying Scola

The Houston Rockets are considering using their amnesty clause on Luis Scola in order to make a trade for Dwight Howard possible. This according to a report by Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

The amnesty clause was written into the latest CBA to allow teams one opportunity to release a player who was signed before July 1st 2011.

The 32-year old Scola is owed $21 million over the next three seasons. Last year, he averaged 15.5 ppg and 6.5 rpg in just over 30 minutes per contest.
