Lakers acquire Steve Nash in sign and trade

According to Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic, the Los Angeles Lakers have acquired point guard Steve Nash from the Phoenix Suns in a sign and trade deal.

The Suns will receive 2013 & 2015 1st-round picks and 2014 & 2015 2nd-round picks from the Lakers in exchange for the 38-year old Nash. 

Nash, who spent the last eight seasons with the Suns, found new life in the 2011-12 shortened season, averaging 12.5 points and 10.7 assists per game. The eight-time All-Star also led all guards in the league in field goal percentage with 53.2%.
