Report: Williams to choose between Nets and Mavs

Deron Williams' decision as to where he'll sign his next contract is reportedly between just two teams, the Brooklyn Nets and the Dallas Mavericks, according to ESPN.

Citing "sources close to the situation," the report states that Williams has already told his representatives to tell any teams calling about free agency that he is either going to re-sign with the moving Nets, or commit to his hometown Mavericks.

The Mavs can offer Williams a four-year contract worth a maximum of around $75 million, whereas the Nets can offer a five-year deal worth closer to $100 million.

Since being traded to New Jersey from Utah in 2011, Williams has averaged 19.9 points and 9.4 assists in 67 games played for the Nets. He has career averages of 17.6 points, 9.2 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals in seven seasons with the Nets and Jazz since being selected third overall in the 2005 NBA Draft.

The 28-year-old point guard is set to become an unrestricted free agent at midnight on July 1, but new contracts cannot be signed and officially finalized until July 11.
