Report: Sloan pulls out of running for Bobcats job

Hall of Fame coach Jerry Sloan has pulled out of the running for the Charlotte Bobcats head coaching job, according to Sports Illustrated.

The report states that Sloan confirmed to SI by phone that he was taking himself out of the running. "I took myself out today. I don't want to comment on it because it's never profitable for anybody. It just makes it sound like you're making a statement about someone. But they were wonderful and there were no problems. I just took myself out," Sloan was quoted in the report.

Citing "league sources," an ESPN report states that the Bobcats had narrowed their list of candidates for the opening down to Sloan, Pacers assistant coach Brian Shaw and Lakers assistant coach Quin Snyder.
