NBA Draft Profile: Jared Cunningham
Jared Cunningham – SG – 6’5, 188lbs.
Oregon State

The Oakland native excelled in the Beavers high tempo offence as a junior, leading to first team All-Pac 12 honours. While Cunningham has the size desired to play shooting guard at the NBA level, he also showed ability to play point guard, as he displayed an excellent first step and strong finishing skills around the basket.
The usual negatives attributed to players with Cunningham’s wiry frame are applicable here. He’ll have to put on a fair amount of weight to battle his way to the basket and defend at the two spot. His perimeter jump-shot is a work in progress, as he shot just 33% from three and a pitiful nine per cent on pull up jumpers.
An interesting quote from Jonathan Givony of Draft Express, is that “Cunningham is not entering the draft with a great deal of momentum behind him" and that "he will need to have strong private workouts if he's to improve his stock enough to justify forfeiting his senior season.”
