DeJuan Blair: Spurs wouldn't have lost if I played
DeJuan Blair has a history of complaining about playing time, but this bit of hubris is in a league of its own.
According to Sports Day DFW, Blair recently told NBA.com that his benching changed the fortunes of the San Antonio Spurs in the playoffs.
“Of course I want to get back. I don't think we've [Spurs] would have came up short if I would've played but, hey, keep that out there.”
Blair saw just 76 minutes of playoff action for the Spurs, who lost in seven games to the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals. In the regular season, Blair averaged 14 minutes, scoring 5.4 points with 3.8 rebounds.
Blair signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks this summer and has quickly got to work adding fuel to the intrastate rivalry.
