Front Row Motorsports’ David Ragan and Kyle Busch Motorsports’ Darrell Wallace Jr. announced on Tuesday that they’ll be running special paint schemes to honor 2015 NASCAR Hall of Fame Inductee Wendell Scott. Both cars will run this fall at New Hampshire.

Scott became the first African-American driver to win a NASCAR premier series event, collecting the checkered flag at Jacksonville Speedway on December 1, 1963.

David Ragan will run a throwback paint scheme that’s similar to the blue No. 34 car Scott drove (see below). Ragan is the first driver to win with that car number since Scott.

For Wallace Jr., who became the first African-American to win a NASCAR national series race since Scott, his team is doing something a bit more special.

In honor of Scott, Kyle Busch Motorsports will change Wallace Jr.’s number from 54 to 34 (see below).

"It's an honor to run the No. 34 Toyota Tundra at Martinsville,” said Wallace via press release. “I got my first win at Martinsville and the historical significance of that win and to be so close to Wendell Scott's hometown was a really cool bonus to getting my first win."

NASCAR also announced on Tuesday that cars in all series will run a special decal in Scott's honor during the first race weekend in March 2015.
