Bellator preparing heightened security for Kimbo Slice-'Dada 5000'

Bellator MMA president Scott Coker is aware of the barbarous mystique that Kimbo Slice and Dhafir "Dada 5000" Harris bring to the world of MMA.

The Bellator 149 co-main event participants made their reputations on the streets and in backyard brawls. While this gives them credibility you can't buy, it also means there are concerns they may not wait until bell time before confronting each other.

"We're gonna have good security there, because we don't need any fight before the fight," Coker told Marc Raimondi of MMAFighting.com. "Or any crews fighting before the fight. We're already on it."

The organization recently experienced trouble with its employees butting heads during their off-hours. Last November, lightweight champion Will Brooks brawled with brothers Patricio and Patricky Freire two days before Brooks was scheduled to defend his title at Bellator 145.

Each side blamed the other for starting the fight. None of the parties involved were injured, but Coker says he learned his lesson.

"Believe me, it's something we've already planned out," Coker said. "I feel confident we'll be fine. We're gonna have the police hang around, so they know that it's a serious situation. If anyone wants to act up, you might go to jail."

Slice and "Dada" meet at Bellator 149 on Feb. 20 in Houston.
