UFC on FOX 17 had something for every kind of fight fan: thrilling submissions, devastating knockouts, and a whole lot of Nate Diaz.

Let's take a look at how the MMA community's best and brightest reacted to the entertaining evening:

On Cole Miller vs. Jim Alers, which ended with a nasty eye poke:

Miller provided a ghastly close-up to let his fans know he was doing alright.

UFC broadcaster Dan Hardy couldn't help but have some fun with the situation.

On Tamdan McCrory's submission win over Josh Samman:

"The Barn Cat" was just a tad excited about winning in his return to the UFC, as Joe Rogan found out firsthand.

On Nate Marquardt's come from behind win against C.B. Dollaway:

On the victorious (and overweight) Charles Oliveira:

On the astonishingly violent Nate Diaz-Michael Johnson fight:

There's always a fight in the crowd after a #Diaz fight 😂😂😂

Diaz's expletive-filled (and mostly muted) post-fight interview also drew a lot of attention:

On Alistair Overeem's knockout of Junior dos Santos:

Not everyone was critical of the slow start to the fight.

But there was no denying the excitement of that big finish.

Of course, Overeem's impending free agency could not be ignored.

On Rafael dos Anjos' defense of the UFC lightweight championship:

Before the fight even started, top contender Tony Ferguson chimed in with his thoughts on the title participants.

Cerrone had unkind words for Conor McGregor in the lead-up to the fight, and McGregor's coach couldn't help but engage in some schadenfreude at seeing "Cowboy" get dropped.

Lastly, leave it to Dustin Poirier to sum up the fight, and perhaps the event itself, in the most succinct manner possible.
