UFC graphic hypes up 'American' Conor McGregor

Much has been made of the national pride exhibited by UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor. Make no mistake about it: The man bleeds red, white, and blue.

At least that's what the UFC would have you think, based on this unfortunate on-screen graphic:

That's right, McGregor, the pride of Ireland who has vowed to someday sell out all 80,000 seats at Croke Park in his hometown of Dublin was shown with an American flag next to his mug during the UFC Fight Night 79 broadcast.

Even if McGregor defeats UFC 194 opponent Jose Aldo, this sudden change in citizenship might make for an awkward return to the Emerald Isle.
