English actor Charlie Hunnam has been a motorcycle gang leader, and piloted giant robots, but could anything possibly prepare him for a cage fight with "The Notorious" Conor McGregor?

The "Sons of Anarchy" star wasn't making any bold proclamations.

"I was just doing a film and I had to lose a lot of weight and that's why I'm a little skinny right now and I got down to 145 pounds, which was my goal, and I thought maybe I could fight Conor McGregor but I don't think it would go too well for me," Hunnam told TMZ, according to FOX Sports' Damon Martin.

Hunnam had to get into fighting form to prepare for the title role in the upcoming film "Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur." Reaching the 145 pound mark had Hunnam joking about how he might fare against the UFC interim featherweight champion.

"Maybe seven and a half seconds before (I'm) getting knocked out but it would be a great seven and a half seconds," Hunnam said. "I feel like I could evade him for seven and a half seconds.

"He comes out quick."

Perhaps fortunately for Hunnam, he won't be available as a potential short-notice replacement for UFC 194. The actor said he already has his tickets for McGregor's unification bout with Jose Aldo next month.
