Dana White considers Johny Hendricks a middleweight now

It appears Johny Hendricks can forget about his quest to recapture the welterweight title.

Following a catastrophic weight cut that resulted in a trip to the hospital and the cancellation of his title eliminator against Tyron Woodley at UFC 192, Johny Hendricks may not have a future at 170 pounds.

"He blows up," UFC president Dana White told "FOX Sports Live," according to MMAFighting.com's Marc Raimondi. "He blows up when he's not competing. As you continue to get older, it gets harder to make the weight. He has to figure out a diet. He just lost a huge opportunity here tonight. He needs to figure this thing out. I consider him a (1)85-pounder right now. I do not want to see him at 170 again."

Hendricks was rushed to the hospital Thursday with an intestinal blockage and a kidney stone. It wasn't the first time he's had trouble shedding pounds, but extreme weight cutting is dangerous business, and he decided to pull out of the bout.

"They called me last night and said he was in a lot of pain," White said. "He laid down and he was better when he laid down and he felt less pain. I said take him to the hospital. They didn't want to take him to the hospital because he was dehydrated and they would give him an IV. It's not worth it. It's not worth a dangerous weight cut to come in and fight no matter how big the fight was. This was a big one."
