  • All hail king Fabricio! It wasn't so much improbable as it was downright inconceivable, but Fabricio Werdum violently captured the undisputed UFC heavyweight title with a scintillating submission victory over long-time champion Cain Velasquez at UFC 188 in June.
  • Werdum's title seizure opens things up for former champion Junior dos Santos, who will rejoin the title hunt as soon as he's healthy. With two lopsided losses to Velasquez on his ledger, it was unlikely he'd get a chance at a quadrilogy, but since he already owns a victory over Werdum, "Cigano" has a compelling reason to chase the championship.
  • It's 2015 and Andrei Arlovski improbably finds himself back in the heavyweight title picture. He defeated Werdum back in 2007 and could very well be a pit stop on Vai Cavalo's potential rematch tour.
  • It took Ben Rothwell less than two minutes to dispatch Matt Mitrione, forcing the former NFLer to wildly double tap to a ridiculously tight guillotine choke. The victory was Rothwell's third in a row, signalling his entrance into the title picture.
