In San Joaquin County Court in California on Thursday, embattled UFC welterweight Nick Diaz pleaded not guilty to two of the eight DUI charges he currently faces, ESPN's Brett Okamoto reports

Diaz, who entered the pleas through his attorney, had his next court appearance scheduled for Nov. 6, per Okamoto, via court spokesperson Stephanie Bohrer.

Diaz is scheduled to fight former middleweight champion Anderson Silva in the main event of UFC 183 on Jan. 31 in Las Vegas. And while UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta has said he doesn't believe the fight is in jeopardy, UFC president Dana White said Thursday that much would depend on Diaz showing up for his mandatory court dates, something he failed to do back in December.

"He's a grown man," White said. "He's got to deal with his situation. The harder part for Nick Diaz is, is Nick Diaz going to show to his court appearances? You don't show up, then warrants come out for your arrest and you probably go to jail."
