Iaquinta rips White's UFC 208 remarks in profanity-laced tirade

Al Iaquinta directed a few profane tweets at his UFC bosses over the weekend, and it turns out he was just getting started.

Appearing on "The MMA Hour" on Monday, "Raging Al" set his sights on head honcho Dana White, taking him to task for comments he made in regards to a UFC event in Brooklyn this past February. Following a lackluster show, White cracked that the most enjoyable part of the evening was his plane ride home.

That criticism didn't sit well with Iaquinta, who believes White was being disrespectful to the fighters.

"Dana White has done a lot for this sport, but he hasn't had one injury in this sport," said Iaquinta. "For him to say, 'The best part of (UFC 208) was the flight home,' you were on a private jet, bro. Shut the fuck up. You're on a private jet. Most people, that would be the highlight of their life, forget the night.

"(Jim Miller) got his fucking leg kicked in. He owes an apology to all those motherfuckers. That's bullshit. Shut your fucking mouth."

The rant was part of a lengthy interview in which Iaquinta repeated his past complaints about fighter treatment and compensation. Iaquinta picked up a thrilling knockout win over Diego Sanchez on Saturday, his first fight in two years. That inactivity was in part due to an ongoing contract dispute with UFC officials.

Among other issues, Iaquinta was hoping that the UFC's insurance policy would pay for a $60,000 knee surgery that he had researched on his own time, but they said he should either undergo a cheaper procedure or pay for part of the surgery himself.

That incident had him questioning the promotion's dedication to its fighters. Iaquinta almost bailed on the Sanchez bout altogether after seeing Jake Ellenberger get viciously knocked out earlier Saturday.

"Ellenberger got elbowed, he was unconscious for awhile," said Iaquinta. "I was like, fuck, I don't even want to fight, do I even want to do this? I almost left the fucking arena and (White) is going to say that the best part (of an event) is the ride home? Shut the fuck up. Are you kidding me? Go fuck yourself.

"Don't ever talk about a fighter like that. You are not a fighter. You don't do it. You don't know."

It's safe to say that Iaquinta is going to stay raging for the foreseeable future.
