Watch: Perry annihilates Ellenberger with standing elbow

Christopher Hanewinckel / USA TODAY Sports

Mike Perry's latest highlight rocketed him to the top of the Knockout of the Year charts.

On Saturday, "Platinum" destroyed Jake Ellenberger at UFC Fight Night 108 with a standing elbow that left the 44-fight veteran flat as a board on the mat and the Nashville crowd in stunned silence.

He then decided that this is the part of the UFC show where we dance:

The two welterweights battled to a standstill in Round 1, with Ellenberger using counter-punches and timely takedowns to avoid Perry's power. Ellenberger began to fade in Round 2 and he fell to the mat after getting clipped by a left hook.

Shortly after, Ellenberger made it back to his feet only to be nailed by Perry's explosive standing elbow.

Perry has now won three of his first four UFC fights, while Ellenberger suffers his seventh loss in nine outings. Four of those setbacks have come by way of knockout or TKO, a disturbing trend given that Ellenberger had only been finished by strikes once in his first 36 professional bouts.
