Swanson reveals he broke hand for 10th time in Lobov fight

Cub Swanson's fourth straight win came at a cost.

The perennial featherweight contender broke his left hand in his unanimous decision victory over Artem Lobov at UFC Fight Night 108, he revealed Wednesday on "UFC Tonight." By Swanson's count, he's now broken his lethal mitt a whopping 10 times.

The 33-year-old claimed he couldn't heed his corner's call for combinations as opposed to single shots during the five-round bout last week, since pain shot up his hand every time it found its home in Lobov's iron dome during the latter frames.

Swanson did not provide a timetable for his recovery, but with his first child due in August, the injury likely did little to derail his designs on returning to the Octagon in late 2017 or early next year.
