Breese suffers ACL tear, out indefinitely

Per Haljestam / USA TODAY Sports

The hits just keep on coming for Tom Breese.

On Monday, the UFC middleweight posted a message on Instagram explaining that he had suffered a knee injury, which will keep him out of competition indefinitely:

Will be out the game for a while tore my ACL in my right knee and my meniscus.

The injury news comes a month after Breese was supposed to fight Oluwale Bamgbose at UFC Fight Night 107 in London, only to be removed from that contest on the day of the event when he was deemed medically unfit due to an elevated heart rate.

Breese most recently fought last June, losing a split decision to Sean Strickland. It was the first loss of his 11-fight career, which prompted him to move up to the 185-pound division, though his recent setbacks have put his middleweight debut on hold.
