Japanese welterweight Kiichi Kunimoto will compete for the first time since February 2015 when he meets Warlley Alves at UFC Fight Night 110 in Auckland, New Zealand.

The UFC's Brazilian Twitter account announced the bout Friday.

An 11-year veteran of the sport, Kunimoto will look to bounce back from a submission loss to Neil Magny that snapped a seven-fight win streak. "Strasser" joined the UFC in 2014 after a lengthy run in Japan and sports a 3-1 Octagon record.

On the line for Alves is his status as a future contender. The former "Ultimate Fighter" winner is mired in back-to-back losses after having his hand raised in his first 10 professional bouts. This booking marks just the second time that Alves competes outside of his home country of Brazil.

UFC Fight Night 110 is scheduled to take place on June 11 and will feature a heavyweight main event between Derrick Lewis and Mark Hunt.
