Report: Erick Silva draws Medeiros at UFC 212

Erick Silva will look to mount just the second win streak of his UFC career when he meets Yancy Medeiros in a welterweight tilt on June 3 at UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro.

MMA Fighting's Guilherme Cruz confirmed the bout Friday following a report by Hawaii's KHON2.

One of the UFC's streakiest talents, Silva alternated wins and losses in each of his first nine fights in the Octagon and has never won more than two straight in a six-year stint with the promotion. The 32-year-old has instead built a reputation as a consistent purveyor of action, with all but two of his 13 UFC bouts making it to the scorecards. In his last outing, Silva snapped a two-fight skid with a third-round tapout of Luan Chagas at UFC Fight Night 95 in September. The frenetic dance took Fight of the Night honors for Silva's seventh post-fight bonus.

After a 3-4 run at lightweight, Medeiros earned a much needed statement win in his debut at 170 pounds, submitting Sean Spencer in just over a round at UFC 203. Like Silva, the Hawaiian's knack for fireworks has fattened his pockets, as his victory over Spencer netted him his fourth fight night bonus.

The Brazil show will be headlined by a featherweight title unification bout between undisputed champ Jose Aldo and interim titleholder Max Holloway.
