Bisping: Dana White eyeing July 8 for GSP bout

Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre can't get on the same page.

The pair are set to face off in a middleweight title bout on a yet-to-be-confirmed date, and mere days after St-Pierre revealed the superfight likely wouldn't go down until after July, Bisping announced on his "Believe You Me" podcast that UFC president Dana White had other plans.

"It's looking like July 8," Bisping said, according to FOX Sports' Damon Martin. "Dana's pushing for July 8. He told me July 8. July 8 would be a good date for me as well. I could fight two months from now. July 8, that works."

UFC 213 is slated for that date - the last of three events booked over as many days during International Fight Week. While Bisping is more than happy to defend his middleweight strap on White's target date, GSP still has to re-enter the USADA testing pool - a months-long process required of returning fighters that could put the president's plans in jeopardy.

St-Pierre, who returned to the UFC in February, hasn't fought since November 2013, and although he put the wheels of his return in motion with USADA last August, he removed himself from the testing pool when his efforts to hammer out a new deal with the UFC brass temporarily went south in late 2016.

As for "The Count," he may be recovering from minor knee surgery, but he's already begun mapping out his preparation for the matchup, and intends to put himself through two full training camps.
