Jones Jr. proposes co-main vs. Silva on Mayweather-McGregor card

Somewhere, Anderson Silva is squealing in delight.

The UFC legend has long pined for a bout with boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. and that possibility was teased by the pugilist in a recent interview with FightHype.com. Fresh off of a TKO victory over Bobby Gunn this past weekend, the 48-year-old Jones was asked for his thoughts on the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor rumors and he expressed interest in taking part in that event should it ever be booked.

"I think you put Roy Jones in versus Anderson Silva as the co-main event, you've got yourself a good dang ol' fight card," said Jones.

That suggestion must be music to Silva's ears, as the former UFC middleweight champion recently said that it is still his dream to fight Jones someday. At 41, Silva has done it all inside the Octagon, so a boxing match with Jones could be the cherry on top of his storied fighting career.
