Nunes considering retirement after 2-3 more fights

Amanda Nunes has a plan for the rest of her fighting career and beyond.

During an interview with espnW on Friday, the UFC women's bantamweight champion guaranteed that she will hold on to her title until she retires. Nunes was asked when that day might come and she posited that there may only be a few fights left before she moves on with her life.

"I don't know, maybe in a couple of fights," Nunes said, according to Anton Tabuena of Bloody Elbow. "Three, two more. I want to have a family. Fighting and having a family at the same time is difficult."

Nunes has been competing professionally for eight years and during that time she has risen from talented prospect to world champion with impressive wins over Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate. The 28-year-old Brazilian is currently in a relationship with fellow UFC fighter Nina Ansaroff.

No announcement has been made for Nunes' next title defense, but she is actively campaigning to face the winner of the inaugural women's featherweight title bout between Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie.

"I want to keep making history," Nunes said. "It never happened in the UFC, with women fighting (and being champion) in two divisions. I want to be the first one. If they give me the opportunity, I will take it."
