Ortiz, Sonnen make weight for Bellator 170 clash

Bellator MMA

Tito Ortiz and Chael Sonnen are set for the first Bellator main event of 2017.

Both MMA stars successfully hit the 205-pound mark Friday morning before meeting face to face at the ensuing ceremonial weigh-ins:

The headliner of Bellator 170 on Saturday is expected to be the last fight of Ortiz's 19-year professional fighting career. Ortiz is a former UFC light heavyweight champion whose 27 appearances inside the Octagon are tied for the company record.

Four fighters missed weight and will forfeit 20 percent of their show money to their opponents. Main-card opener Derek Anderson failed to make the lightweight limit, but will not be punished, as he and opponent Derek Campos agreed to a 160-pound catchweight bout beforehand.

Bellator 170 will take place at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
