BJ Penn would want to fight again, says coach

Hold off on eulogizing BJ Penn's career.

According to Penn's boxing coach Jason Parillo, there still remains the possibility that "The Prodigy" will step into the Octagon again. The 38-year-old Penn came out of retirement for a second time this past Sunday at UFC Fight Night 103, but failed to reclaim his vintage form as he was finished by strikes in the second round by Yair "El Pantera" Rodriguez.

Given the one-sided nature of the bout, nobody would blame Penn for calling it quits for good this time, but Parillo is leaning towards the featherweight competing at least one more time.

"I can't give a straight answer, like yes or no," Parillo told Marc Raimondi of MMA Fighting. "Because I'm not a mind reader. But again, if you put a gun to my head and you say ... 'If you answer wrong, I'm gonna shoot you in the head. Do you think BJ Penn will fight again?' I would say yes."

Penn has suffered ugly beatdowns in his last four appearances and unfortunately for fans hoping that he'll give it a rest, his never-say-die attitude is likely to keep him fighting and searching for that elusive high note to go out on.

"You're going in to win no matter which way you're looking at it," Parillo said. "Disappointed? Yes, of course we're disappointed. It's just BJ figuring out what he's gonna do from here.

"BJ is the type of guy that is never gonna want to not fight. BJ, he's gonna fight until he dies. That's where he's gonna die - he's gonna die in that cage."
